Jonathan Smith
Knowledge. Experience. Education. Professionalism.

I have worked in the production industry since 2002, working on events ranging from 30-member churches to festivals with attendance by over 80,000 people. I've toured extensively, and enjoy the challenges of touring. Like most people in entertainment production, summer is usually filled with music festivals.
I believe that education is one of the tenets of solid professional work. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Recording Arts from the University of Colorado in 2006, where I focused my studies on live audio production, and studied line array theory and application extensively. While living and working in Colorado after my graduation, I regularly lectured on those topics at my Alma Mater. In every aspect of my professional life, I constantly work on improving myself. I constantly read about new techniques and technologies, and attend industry training events when possible.
System measurement and calibration has become one of my largest job responsibilities. I've been an avid user of SMAART since I was introduced to it in 2002. I maintain my own SMAART measurement rig, and travel with it extensively. My extensive experience with it has also allowed me to teach classes on SMAART basics. Read more about my work with Oprah's latest tour to see the kind of rigs I really enjoy working with.
When I'm not working, I can usually be found riding my motorcycle, at a shooting range, at a gym, or tending to a rack of ribs on my smoker.
